Wales - August 24 - Jurassic Coast
10/12/2026
On Monday morning, we called and audible and decided NOT to go to Bath - because we have been there before - and instead, detoured to the "Jurassic Coast" on our way back to London.
We stopped at the Durdle Door (a natural limestone arch) with a breathtaking seaside view along the cliffs. Did the cliff walk to Lulworth Cove (which was much longer than anticipated). It was another beautiful, sunny day...but it was quite blustery along the seaside. Nevertheless, we worked up quite a sweat, before driving to Corfe Castle - a castle on a hill that had actually be sacked and largely demolished by peasants after overthrowing the guy in charge - whom apparently they didn't care much for.
We also tried our first (and likely only) bakewell tart in the village of Corfe. It was tasty...but very, very, very, very, very sweet.
