Cotswolds - August 18 - Day 1

Today, we picked up a rental car and headed to the Cotswolds, a string of small, quaint villages that are a couple hours drive from London. Our first stop was Cirencester, where I discovered...WELSH CAKES. A woman was making them fresh at the Cornhall Market. The best way I can describe them is that they're like a combination of a soft cookie and a pancake...and they're unbelievably DELICIOUS! (I can't wait for our upcoming trip to Wales.) After Cirencester, we took a stroll through Cheltenham before heading to Broadway for the evening. We stayed at an amazing hotel/spa - Dormy House - in Broadway...I give them SIX stars! And we had a great dinner at The Broadway Hotel restaurant. Nancy also found lots of "stuff" for our expectant grandaughter.
